Hello, my name is Sanctus Hillaty, i am 24 years old and i am studying my bachelor wildlife tourism at Mweka collage.
I don’t know the exact year that i met henny, but i think it is about 5 years ago. One of my cousins who is living with my family and me is mentally disabled. I met Henny via my parents, because my parents used to come to the daycare for meetings and helping them. So during that time my parents thought it was a good idea if i also started helping the daycare. When volunteers come to help at the project, I try helping them getting to know Moshi and finding there way in Tanzania and where they need to go for everything they want to arrange. Last September 2014, there was a information meeting for all the parents and guardians of the kids who go to the daycare. During that meeting i met Loes, she was volunteering at the daycare. The first time i saw her i thought we wouldn’t get along with eachother. During that meeting the guardians/parents were talking swahili, and because Loes was sitting close to me i decided to help her out and translate some stuff for her. At that time, i thought translating for her was a small thing that i could do. In the next coming weeks i showed her around in Moshi and we were getting to know eachother a lot better. Sometimes i went home really late because we spend such a long time together. I had a holiday at that time, so i had a lot of time to spend with her, even like 5 evenings per week. On 4 October 2014 i realized that she was “the one” so i asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend. But she didn’t answer my question. After a few weeks i found out that i was going to fast for her, but she also really liked me. From that point we decided to see how it would go. She went back to the Netherlands in November and came back to Tanzania two times. In September 2015 i went to the Netherlands to see her life and meet her family and friends.
I am finishing my degree this year and after that i want to follow a master in the Netherlands for two years. This way we can really get to know eachother and hopefully live together those years. After that i would like to have a good running safari company. When this is all going well i want to help and support the project a lot more. A lot of the NGO’s here are connected to a safari company, any volunteer that comes to Tanzania gets the upportunity to visit the attractions via that company.
If you look at the link of tembo wildlife safaris you can see the company that i am starting with two other people. Tanzania has a lot of people who are disabled, and there is not a lot of people that can take care of them. So it is good if people come and help here or donate some money for the project.
I hope anything i said here will convince you to donate for the project or even come to volunteer and go on a wonderfull safari with my company.
